Water Pump Filter
Bush pumps are positive displacement pumps typically used for manually extracting water. Check valves, which prevent reverse flow, are essential to such pumps. Sediment builds within these check valves leading to loss in pressure and eventually pump failure.
The team at Otterbein University was tasked with the creation and development of a low cost, easily accessible, and easily maintainable water filter. Working as the project's lead designer and programmer, I produced the ideation design sketches and microcontroller code for maintenance identification.
Seen below is part of the ideation and design process used to develop this water filter pump.
